Lord - Lane McElravy

Hi, I am Lane McElravy.
I am from Shelton, Washington. I attend A.R.B.A. shows all over Washington. I go to the Grays Harbor County Fair, where last year I was the Champion Novice Showman. I can not wait to keep attending more shows where I can compete in showmanship, it is my favorite.

I am 7 years old, I got my start in rabbits in 2022, when my Nana gave me a Lilac. Frosty, my Lilac, was just the beginning. I soon got a Polish from MaryAnn Preston, his name is Pockets. I now have a
registered rabbitry, Wiley Frosty Rabbits. I am raising Polish because they are small and I want to help some young kid get their start in rabbits just like me.

Lady - Jamie Snedden

Hi my name is Jamie Snedden and I am 7 years old. I am in first grade at Winlock Miller Elementary School. I live with my Mom, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Brian and my 4 year old sister. I started showing my Mini Lops in Open Shows at 4 years old. When I turned five I started showing in the youth shows. I am a member of the Washington State Rabbit Breeders Association, American Rabbit Breeders Association, Mini Lop Rabbit Specialty Club and the American Mini lop Specialty Club. I raise and show the Mini Lops and love them. My favorite thing about the Mini Lops is their personalities and how snuggly they are. I also love when the babies are born, because they are so fun and cute. I love going to rabbit shows where I can compete and make new friends. I love to go to rabbit shows because I can compete in type, showmanship and skill testing. This past year some of my biggest accomplishments were I won some Best in Shows, Reserve in Shows, and some Best of Breeds. I took first place in some of the skills tests and fitting and showing contests. At convention last year I won 1st place pre junior breed id and was first runner up lady. I also won 4th Place sweepstakes for the Mini Lop Rabbit Specialty and was the District Breeder of the year. I also placed 12th in the WSRBA Youth Sweepstakes for this last year. I am especially excited for my rabbit project this year, because I have decided that I wanted to go to Kentucky and compete in rabbit royalty and type judging. I think this would be a good experience and I cannot wait to meet some new friends. The one thing I am most excited about convention is competing in breed id. I love learning all about the different breeds and their varieties. When I am not showing my rabbits. I love to play softball, read, do artwork and play with my sister. I also love to go to the park and the zoo.

Prince - Caden Harris

My name is Caden Harris. I live in Kennewick, Washington and I am 10 years old and just completed the fourth grade. I have been in 4‐H for two years, this is my second time attending State Convention and my first time competing in Royalty. I have a Polish, 3 Mini Lops, 3 Mini Rex, 2 Holland Lops, and an
Abyssinian Satin. I try to go to all the shows in Eastern Washington. My love for animals is why I was interested in joining 4‐H but all the friends I have made, make it my favorite hobby. I went to 4‐H camp last year for the first time and cannot wait to go again. The fair is my favorite week of the year, I like being with all my friends and talking about my rabbits to the public. At our home I have a mini farm, I also raise many breeds of chickens and market sheep. My non‐animal hobbies include playing the piano, taekwondo, drawing, video games and hiking. My great experience would not be possible without some amazing adults that I have crossed paths with: First my mom, Jessica Harris, my 4‐H leader Kristina Wildenborg who helped answer every question about everything rabbit. Show secretaries Denise Konzek, who also breeds my market rabbits, Kelsi Ramos, who has tattooed all my rabbits and helped inform me about royalty. Ashley Mahaffey, who has helped me with my cavy. Shelene Castro who was the first breeder to explain her breed to me in depth and helped me get started with mini lops. My grandma who takes care of all the animals whenever we are out of town and always has my showmanship attire ready to go. I am grateful to have won this award and for all the hard work that goes on in the backend that made it possible for my success.

Princess - Emma Wildenborg

My name is Emma Wildenborg. I am 9 1⁄2 years old and live in Benton City, Washington. I am starting fourth grade next year and love reading, gymnastics, basketball, and swimming. I live on a “mini farm” that includes rabbits, chickens, sheep, dogs, and cats. I love all of my animals and enjoy sharing them with others. I have been raising rabbits since I was four years old, and I really enjoy sharing my rabbits with other youth and members of the community. Last year, I was 2nd runner-up for the 2023 ARBA Lady title at the 100th ARBA Convention. ARBA Convention was so much fun, and there were 16 other girls in the Lady category! Last year I earned the 2023 WSRBA Lady title and look forward to competing in WSRBA royalty again this year. I continue to work hard at learning more about my rabbits and my breed and enjoy learning from those around me. Every time I go to a rabbit show, I can work with other breeders and judges to continue to grow in my project.

Duke - Aidan McCurdy

Hello, my name is Aidan McCurdy. I am from Arlington, Washington and I am 12 years old. I raise cavies. I started showing cavies in 2022, when I joined 4-H. I have participated in 4-H shows, local community, county and state fairs, and open shows. I participated in my first American Cavy Breeders Association specialty show in Cloverdale, California last year. I really liked participating in royalty and have decided to participate in other youth contests.

I currently have 9 of the 13 recognized breeds of cavies. I am working on breeding American Cal pattern cavies in a few different colors. I am hoping to have American Satin Cals soon. When I go to shows get to talk to other breeders about their programs so I can learn how to improve my own. I plan on producing Grand Champion Cals!

When I’m not doing something that is cavy related, I like to play with my friends, ride ATV’s, and play
video games. I don’t play on any sports teams, but I enjoy playing basketball and soccer with my friends.

Duchess - Bethany Menge

My name is Bethany Menge and I am 12 years old. I live with my three siblings and parents in Duvall, WA. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. I have been showing rabbits through Greensleeves 4-H in Snohomish County for six years. I breed Rex, and Creme D’argent rabbits. I currently have a Rex breeding program where I breed agoutis to try and get the color lynx. In my
last litter I finally got one! It took almost two years. I have also started breeding my Creme D’argents. I am new to the breed, and only got them last year at the ARBA convention. This is my third time going to the WSRBA Convention, and last year I won princess. I am very happy that I was able to do this well this year! It is my first time competing at WSRBA as a duchess, so I am going up against harder competition than in the past. I have worked very hard to come this far! Through 4-H I enjoy competing at the Evergreen State Fair, and the Silvanna Fair. I also enjoy participating in the Evergreen Youth Livestock Sale at the Evergreen State Fair. I love 4-H and just showing rabbits in general. My 4-H showmanship rabbit’s name is Colby Jack, and he is a Creme D’argent. I live on a farm with rabbits, chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, and cats. I am going into 7th grade and am homeschooled. Rabbits is not my only 4-H project, I am also a part of sewing, creative arts, public presentations, gardening, and photography. This past year I also competed in a national level speech and debate program called STOA. I love to sing and write, and my dream is to one day be an author. I also enjoy milking my goat Becca, and making cheese. This past year I was in “A MidSummer Night’s Dream” at my school. Lots of people have helped me with my rabbit career; my 4-H friends, my parents; Chris and Melanie Menge, Josh and Maria Benjamin, Stacy Dekoekoek, Beth Kovich, Jodi Davis, Lily Felure, Ket Davis, Mara Lautzenheizer, Maddy Benjamin, and Michael Killion.

Queen - Mara Lautzenhiser

Hello! My name is Mara Lautzenhiser. If you are reading this then I’m your 2024 Queen. I am in the 10th grade at Glacier Peak High School in Washington State. I have been raising Jersey Woolies for 8 years and I just started raising Californians. I am so excited to start this new adventure. I am also in 4-H and FFA. In 4-H, I am in the Rabbit, Cavy, Vet Science, Creative Arts, Photography, Gardening, Public Presentations, and Livestock Judging projects. In FFA, I do rabbits and vet science. This year I am venturing out and doing two Livestock auctions. During the year, I attend a lot of ARBA and 4-H shows in the pacific northwest. If I have free time, I like to play video games with friends, read books, write stories, and do art projects. My dream is to keep raising rabbits, become an ARBA judge and a veterinarian that works on rabbits to help out the rabbit raising community. I just got my Registrar’s license, so I’m pretty excited about that. I would like to give a shout out to all of the people who have
helped me along the way: my Greensleeves club friends, my Snohomish County 4H Rabbit Program friends, my King County friends, my mom; Jenny Lautzenhiser, Kody Friedrich, Maria and Josh Benjamin, Nicole Petersen, Wanda Weber, Loretta Wadner, Charlotte Parry, Kelsi Ramos, Susan Browne, Jodi and Martin Davis, Stacy Dekoekoek, Tiffany McCoy, Laura Valleries, Heidi McCurdy, Emma Ward, Bella Stouffer, Carolynn Olmstead, Lily Felure, Katie Davis, Carlie Boling, Liz Nichols, Jan Mccollough, Mary Whitney, Ashley Mahaffey, Katelyn Metzger, Bethany Robertson, Callie Weber, Reni Jenks, Autumn Dennistoun, Michaelle Merkel, Bill Kimmel, and George Germaine. These people have been a big help to me in my rabbit project. I would also like to thank all the people who made the Washington State Convention possible, but especially Kelsi Ramos and all the youth contest volunteers for having the energy and love to put on these competitions. It is an honor representing Washington and all the youth competitors. Happy Showing Everyone!
